The Difference Between Blank Guns And Real Guns

Educating yourself on the legality, safety procedures and features of blank guns to identify their uses and short comings.

Look at any movie- whether a Hollywood blockbuster or a low-budget indie film and you're bound to see a blank gun in any scene featuring a firearm. Movie producers use blank guns instead of real firearms and still maintain the illusion of an actual gun. The main reason for this substitution is safety and accessibility.

It is astonishing the volume of blank guns produced to match the look, sound and function of their live round firing counterparts. If you can't find a non-firing gun there are also blank firing adapters for sale.

What is the point of a blank gun?

The main reason for blank firing guns other than movies and cinema is for training purposes and the use of blank guns for theatrical purposes is also very commonplace. Blank guns essentially look, sound and feel like the real thing.

Well, if they're so similar to the real thing, what's the difference?

The main difference is: they do not fire live ammunition. However, you will still need to wear ear-protection, safety glasses and fire them at a shooting range. Below is an excerpt from our blank gun disclaimer.
"Blank guns CANNOT fire real ammunition. Any alteration or improper use of these blank guns will void all warranties including but not limited to the importer, distributor, and/or manufacturer warranties. Altering a blank gun to render it capable of firing live ammunition may be illegal. Blank guns are intended for display and use by adults age 18 years or older. NEVER point a blank gun at a person.  They should NEVER be carried on the street, pointed at anyone, hidden on your person, or left in your car. DO NOT leave them where they are accessible to children."
Blank guns are legal and easier to get than a real firearm, but are not a play thing.

Blank guns have a variety of uses, find out if they're what you are looking for.
