A chief survivalist knife for any outdoorsman, the Jungle King Z-1044 is a hot buy. The knife measures up to over 14 inches long and comes with an extensive survival kit. As soon as I open the handle on my Jungle King Z-1044, I know I'm getting my money's worth. The spring-loaded survival kit leaps out and into my palm. I screw open this kit to find almost everything I’d ever need when stranded minus the water. The handle fits firmly in my hand as I slide the kit back inside. The handle is contoured for your fingers with grooves making for a comfortable and strong hold. Though most of the knife is hand forged surgical steel, the steel on the handle is covered with ABS plastic texture and cut into diamond grip patterns. You may have a problem getting this knife out of your hand rather than it slipping away.

The tremendous blade is nine inches long. The blade is 1065 engineered surgical steel and gets up to 2.5 inches wide towards the end. With a slight thumb rise and staggered serrations on the spine, this blade is made to cut- and cut it does. The end of the blade leads into a swage-like edge making for a stronger point. A choil or indented start of the blade, is grooved to ensure your unstoppable slicing grip.

 

The sheath is made from strong nylon and has two button snap straps. One button strap holds the blade securely in the sheath, while the other one holds the handle. The sheath comes with a belt loop to tightly attach your Jungle King to you where ever you go. Tie this knife to your wrist or back pack with the three feet of extra rope included near the top of the pommel.

This spring assisted knife is about as historically relevant as it is rescue oriented. The knife sports a half serrated edge with a drop point cutting edge. The spine of the blade is almost 5mm thick and has a grooved thumb rise to give a firm hold. The seat belt cutter features a stainless steel razor blade while the window breaker is solid steel with a sharp jabbing point.

The finish of the K-335-TAN is a metallic orange and gives the knife a luminosity like no other. The POW MIA logo is attached to the hilt in the form of a steel emblem. The logo features a silhouette of Jeffery Heisley (Newt's son), a watch tower, a strand of barbed wire and a wreath.
